Teaser Tuesday 3/16

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
  • Share the title & author, too, so that others can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
Instead of randomly picking two lines, I'm sharing with you the first lines Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler, the sequel to the wonderful Parable of the Sower:
They'll make a God of her.

I think that would please her, if she could know about it.

  1. Whoa! I'm not sure if I would want to be a god....

  2. One of her books has actually been nominated in the past in my Fantasy/Science Fiction Book of the Month group on Shelfari. If you're interested, you might check it out. We read one regular and one series book each month (participation is not required--you can join in on books you want to read that we do). I might have to pick up one of Butler's books. They do look interesting!

Thanks for looking at my TEASER today. :)
