Teaser Tuesday 1/5

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • Share the title & author, too, so that others can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
This week's teaser is from a book that I think many people believe to be one of the classics of historical fiction: The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman.
"You are remarkably well informed, my lord Buckingham."

"I cannot afford not to be."
Buy The Sunne In Splendour: A Novel of Richard III on Amazon.

  1. Hmmm...Now I am wondering why he can't afford to be informed ;-)

  3. Yup, I like it!

  4. Great teaser! I just ordered the book. I finished Here Be Dragons yesterday and I loved it. Never read her books before.

  5. This one has been on my TBR list for quite a while now. I may have to move it up to the top of the stack. Great teaser!
    Here's mine.

  6. Ah a good historical fiction sounds perfect right now. My teaser is at The Crowded Leaf.

  7. Looks interesting. I haven't read any historical fiction in awhile. I'll have to look this one up :)

I am re-reading Watership Down by Richard Adams this week. You can find my teaser here.
